Laura A. Wilson – About Me
My work is primarily inspired by landscapes and my surroundings. I connect to each place I travel and live through bridging my inner experiences in each new place with observations of the landscape, people, language, geography and history as well as through participation in the culture. Paintings, sculptures and installations emerge from this immersion in each new situation.
From 2007 to 2009, I designed and created urban water sculptures for projects in Europe, Asia and America with the landscape architecture firm, Atelier Dreiseitl, in Überlingen, Germany.
I was born in North Carolina, USA, and have lived and worked between Europe and Chapel Hill, NC since 2004. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art, cum laude, from Furman University, SC, USA in 1996 and studied Sculpture from 2004 to 2007 in the UK.
